Muscat: Omran is revising the master plan of Salam Yiti resort project, inorder to resume construction work. The work on the resort venture was stalled in the aftermath of economic meltdown.

"We are currently revising the master plan and conducting another feasibility study. The change is only in the size of some components, reduction in the number of residential units and type of hotels and luxuries offered by the hotels. There will not be large number of residential units that were in the previous plan. It will be more in line with what the market actually needs," Omran chief executive Wael bin Ahmed Al Lawati said, adding: "but the government is committed to making investment in the project."

However, he said that in terms of total area and components, there will not be any change.

Salam Yiti is a joint venture between Omran and Sama Dubai.
