Doha - In conjunction with the Community Footprints Programme of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, the employees of Sharq Village and Spa donated clothing and other essential items to benefit the underprivileged under the care of Qatar Charity.
Between March and June this year, the 368 employees of Sharq Village and Spa have gathered over 50 bags of clothing and shoes to support the Qatar Charity, whose activities cover more than 40 countries in Africa, Asia and Europe and provide aid to local communities, and in particular to orphans, families without income and victims of unforeseen circumstances. The Charity was established in 1992 and is currently one of the largest charitable non-governmental organizations working in Qatar.
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has built a legacy of extraordinary service. This tradition extends into the hotel chain's social responsibility program, Community Footprints, and inspires to positively impact the lives of others through community outreach and corporate giving.
"At the Ritz-Carlton, we see Corporate Social Responsibility as a core part of our business" said Hossein Vetry, General Manager, Sharq Village and Spa, which is managed by The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, B.V.
"By giving our ladies and gentlemen the opportunity to give back to their local areas, we carry on our company's long history and deep commitment to community involvement. This is the second donation drive we have organised and hope that our small contribution will bring some cheer to the less privileged, making Doha, a better place to live and work." added Vetry.
