DOHA: Standard Chartered Bank and the British Embassy held a reception yesterday to mark the visit of Christos Papadopoulos, the bank's regional CEO for the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan, here.

The reception was co-hosted by Charles Carlson, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank in Qatar and John Hawkins, the British Ambassador to Qatar. Guests included senior members of the Qatari and British business communities, diplomats and dignitaries.

Charles Carlson  while underlining the bank's commitment to Qatar said: "This event was an opportunity for Christos and I, along with other executives of the Bank, to meet and strengthen our relationships with our valued clients. We would like to thank the British Embassy for co-hosting this immensely successful evening with us".

John Hawkins said: "British-based Standard Chartered has a strong presence in Qatar and we're delighted to be co-hosting this event as the bank continues to strengthen relationships in the business community and beyond."
