Damascus - Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Otri asserted Tuesday the importance of engineers' role in pushing forward the process of building, construction and comprehensive development in different fields in Syria under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad.
During his meeting with the chairman and members of Engineers Union and the heads of the Union branches in the governorates, Otri called on to take an interest in developing engineering profession.
Otri also concentrated on the role of the Union and its branches in the governorates in the process of rehabilitation and training, in bolstering the engineers' expertise through moving from the individual to the collective form and in encouraging the establishment of engineering offices.
The engineers reviewed a group of ideas and proposals on ways of developing the engineering work through legal amendments and managerial decisions and measures to upgrading the engineering performance in a way that caters to the demands of development and future need.
