MUSCAT -- NEC Infrontia (formerly known as Nitsuko), in partnership with Jawad Sultan Technologies (JST) LLC -- one of the Sultanate's foremost names in technology solutions, launched the latest, new intelligent hybrid key telephone system, the Aspila Topaz, at the Crowne Plaza, yesterday.

The many advantages, cost effectiveness and versatility of the new hybrid system was outlined by panel members consisting of Masafumi Makino, Chief Representative (Engineering Manager), Middle East Office; C K Tan, Senior Manager, Regional Sales Distribution and Jeffery Ch'ng, Distributor Sales, of NEC Infrontia Corporation and Nabil Jawad Sultan, Managing Director, JST and Kiron S Kunte, Chief Executive Officer, JST.

Presentations made by the panel members highlighted Aspila Topaz's many unique properties, including, flexibility, scalability, advanced intelligent built-in as well as add-on features and easy maintenance. The other features include: caller ID facility -- as standard and for single line extensions, fully digital hybrid system, ISDN support, auto attendant and voice mail.

Aspila Topaz is a feature rich successor to popular TX/AK series, offering business and public operators communications coverage in three main areas, namely I-solutions, I-appliance and I-communication.
With innovatively intelligent least call routing (LCR) and automatic route selection (ARS) functions, users with more than one telephone service provider are automatically placed on to the provider with the less expensive rate.

Hence, this is a very economical and practical method of placing calls, especially international ones. Topaz has the capability of catering to the up-to-the-minute requirements of users. As the organisation grows, extensions can be added from a minimum of 8 extensions to 72 extensions. Along with call barring, dial block and call accounting facilities -- that allows the system controller to quickly and conveniently see the details of all calls made.

The system has an aesthetically well-designed, rugged and stable design, which is backed up by the high level of quality expected by customers. Further, the corporation's long-term relationship with Jawad Sultan Technologies -- since 1982 has resulted in them being one of the premier key telephone supplier in Oman. JST is the exclusive distributors in Oman of NEC Infrontia and serve a prestigious clientele-list of public and private organisations. They are also involved in the provision of security and fire alarm systems, office automation and networking.
