BAGHDAD: White Bloc denied today any intention to return to Iraqiya bloc, which separated from it last year.

A statement by Aziz Shareef al-Mayahi, leading member of White Bloc, reported that the bloc has its independence which is based on national and constitutional bases, away from the negligence practiced by Iraqiya bloc to some of its affiliates.

"The bloc has its national project which is based on building the future of federal and constitutional Iraq", he confirmed.

Media organs reported that head of parliamentary Iraqiya bloc MP Salman al-Jumaili stated the intentions of some MPs to return to his bloc.

Jumaili told Aswat al-Iraq last Wednesday that some White and Free Iraqiya blocs' members expressed their support for Iraqiya bloc in any stand to be taken, including withdrawing confidence from the government or boycotting it.

Mayahi added said that these talks might be referred to other blocs, but not the White Bloc.

The White Bloc, headed by MP Jamal al-Bateekh, separated from Iraqiya bloc last year, but also suffered the withdrawal five of its leading members to form the Free Iraqiya bloc.
