MUSCAT -- The Gulf School at National Hospitality Institute (NHI), has launched here yesterday a new partnership with Virgin Atlantic to offer the latest training programmes in Air Fares and Ticketing.
These new programmes offering the students a range of study options and a more cost effective entry into the world's largest employer in the travel agency industry.
The school at NHI has been at the forefront of development in this area for over 15 years and many of their alumni can be found in the local travel industry here in Oman and further in the Gulf region.
The programme is available at two levels. VA-1 covers all the essentials of destination coding and fare construction. Meanwhile, the advanced course, VA-2 is designed to build to provide training in more complex fare construction involving a range of travel options.
NHI is designed to train Omani youth with promising career prospects in the booming hotel and travel industry and retail sectors across the region. Through theory, practical and internships, the institute trains and qualifies Omanis to work and be part of the fast developing tourism sector.
