Abu Dhabi, May 13th, 2012 (WAM) -- The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City has expanded Bani Yas slaughterhouse adding a new slaughtering hall annexed to the public waiting hall.
The new hall can handle up to 2,500 heads per day, given the increase in the number of butchers. The new appurtenance can operate as an auxiliary hall to the old one and they can both operate together during festivals and other occasions to meet the increasing and huge public demand. The new expansion addresses all health and occupational safety stipulations and provides all necessary appurtenances including rooms for handling bowels and waste as well as butchers' locker room built to the highest international standards, among others. This step comes in the context of the Municipality's keenness to meet the growing public demand on slaughterhouse services and improve the health standards & public services rendered at Abu Dhabi.slaughterhouses. Khalifa Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Director of Public Health, in the presence of Othman Mohammed Foulazi, Director of Facility and Security, Abdullah Darwish Al Khouri, Director of Business Development at Musanada, said, "The new hall will serve as an auxiliary hall for the old one, and the two slaughtering halls can run together during Eids and festivals to meet the huge demand of slaughterhouse customers."Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2012.
