Dubai, 4 Sept. 2013 (WAM) - Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended today at the Meydan IMAX Theatre a screening of a documentary reflecting day-to-day operations at the Dubai International Airport.
Present were H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Aviation Authority and Chief Executive of Emirates Group. The hour-long film is part of a 10-episode documentary, produced by Dubai Airports, in collaboration with the National Geographic Channels. The National Geographic will start broadcasting the documentary to its viewers base of over 500 million households around the world. The documentary shows normal daily works at the Dubai International Airport and the facilities offered to passengers at the runway, gates, immigration counters, baggage collection areas and customs gates. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed said the documentary is expected to appeal to millions of viewers, thanks to the well-crafted cinematography and simplicity. "The film tells a success story of an airport that is one of a kind in terms of services and facilities. It is gateway envisioned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to be a reflection of the civilisation and hospitality of the UAE people," he added. Sheikh Mohammed praised the effort made in producing and filming the documentary and ordered repeated broadcasting to the people of the world. Also present were Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director General of Dubai Ruler's Court, Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director General of Dubai Protocol and Hospitality Department, Saeed Humaid Al Tayer, Chairman of Meydan Board of Directors, Ward Platt, CEO of National Geographic Channels International, senior officials and members media representatives.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2013.
