The Labor Ministry yesterday launched an electronic labor recruitment system for companies in the Green category of Nitaqat. There will be three levels among these companies considering the rate of Saudization they have achieved.

The ministry would first consider the pending visa applications. Then it will accept new applications that have fulfilled the necessary conditions. "We'll take into consideration the number of visas that were not used and the number of rented workers," it said.

The ministry would not accept a new application from a company if its previous application is still under process. "The new service will not be applicable to newly formed companies or SMEs having nine or less workers," the ministry said.

"We'll calculate the number of Saudi workers in a company after their registration with GOSI (General Organization for Social Insurance) and after ensuring payment for the last 13 weeks," it added. A Saudi worker will be calculated from the day his/her name is registered with GOSI irrespective of when they started work. The ministry will depend on Interior Ministry data to calculate foreign workers. A foreign worker will be calculated under Nitaqat after the issuance of work permit and not after the issuance of visa. A foreign worker's name will be removed from the list soon after his departure from the Kingdom on exit-only visa and after the cancellation of his name by the Interior Ministry if he/she had left on re-entry visa.
