ERBIL - Iraqi Ministry of Migration began today a campaign for distributing financial aid on some 12,000 Iraqi families who have taken refuge in Kurdistan Region, the minister said.

Each family will receive 400,000 IQD (almost $330) by three teams which operate in the three major cities of Kurdistan, Erbil, Suli and Duhok, said Dindar Doski.

The minister added earlier his office launched a similar campaign to support some 8,000 Iraqi families in Kurdistan.

There are 40,000 Iraqi families who have taken shelter in Kurdistan, according to the minister.

The rest of the families will also get the fund but the date for distributing the aid has not been set yet.
