Weddex2013 is a leading wedding and fashion fair dedicated t the bride (Al-Arussa in Arabic) has been opened on Sunday at Corinthia Hotel Tripoli to provide all requirements for a successful wedding.
A large crowd of young and old women as well as men showed up. The atmosphere was cheerful and colorful. People were visiting and inquiring about the prices looking for the best offer and the best dress that suits Al-Arussa.
People where moving from a stand to another. The products and services vary from lingerie, wedding gowns to evening footwear, beauty products and henna art designers, jewelers and bride accessories , beauty saloons, perfumes, catering, Libyan and oriental pastries and ice creams.
This is the seventh edition of Weddex which comes at a time when Libyans are preparing for the summer weddings after the winter months which usually are slower in this regard.
It displays all the bride needs to celebrate her wedding as well as ladies items are either for sale or rent. The items and products in display range from traditional Libyan marriage dresses to modern ones crafted by top and international fashion designers.
The Tripoli Post stopped at Pure Elegance stand, two young Libyan ladies explained the quality and design of a number of new wedding dresses in display.
They seemed confident of their wedding and evening dresses imported from US, Canada and the Netherlands and designed by Justin Alexander or Jonathan Kane.
The selling price starts from 800 Libyan dinars up to 3500. They also rent dresses per night. The prices starts from 900 to 2000 Libyan dinars per night but one has to show an ID and 300 dinars as a deposit in case of any damage.
Asked about her impression of the fair as a businesswoman, Ala Fallah of Pure Elegance said ?the fair has been a delightful. It is nice to see so many businesses developing in country and we are expanding our business in the Libyan market.?
Two Moroccan ladies came directly from Casablanca to take part in the event and sell Moroccan wedding dresses.
Organized by Saker Expo, Weddex, open from 17 to 20 March, is planning to expand further in its coming edition.
