KUWAIT, Feb 9 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's national squash on Friday beat Sri Lanka 2-1, giving it a chance to clinch to a fifth place within the 13th Asian Junior squash championship held in Hong Kong.

Head of Kuwait's delegation Adel Al-Gharib told KUNA over the phone that the win came after players Ammar Al-Tamimi and Ahmad Al-Randi won their sets while their comrade Mohammad Al-Tawari suffered a loss.

Kuwait will play for the fifth place against South Korea, said Al-Gharib, who hoped that the players would give an outstanding performance in the next game.

The official revealed that the Kuwaitis won their matches against Macau and Taipei, but lost to host Hong Kong, adding that the host, alongside Pakistan, Malaysia, and India would play in the finals.

Meanwhile, Al-Gharib revealed that Kuwait would host the Asian open squash tournament in 2008 in accordance with the decision made by the Asian Squash Federation (ASF) during a sideline meeting here.
