Kuwaiti bank launches digital bank with its own budget

RIYADH: The National Bank of Kuwait has launched a digital bank called “Weyay” that will operate under its umbrella and will have its own budget, the bank’s CEO Salah Al-Fulaij said in an interview with CNBC Arabia.

The digital bank targets those under the age of 34, the age group that represents two-third of Kuwait’s population.

Al-Fulaij pointed out that financial technology will play a major role in the future and we have to keep pace with that.
