MP calls for payment of allowances to MoE staff
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 16: Chairperson of the Accountants Appeals Committee and board member of Kuwait Association of Accountants and Auditors (KAAA) Bader Shabbab Al-Shimali praised the Government Manpower Restructuring Program (GMRP) for its cooperation in reviewing and approving the proposed allowance for the accountants, similar to the recent increment given to the employees in the government sector, to prevent the exodus of workers from the private sector to the public institutions, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Al-Shamali revealed the KAAA - represented by its board of directors - voiced its grievances after the Civil Service Commission (CSC) issued a decision on the approval of the salary increment of some workers in the public sector. He said the decision has negatively affected an important profession in the private and public sectors. He added both sectors are suffering from a dearth of Kuwaiti accountants; hence, the need for the association to take the necessary steps to protect the rights of its members.
Al-Shamali also announced the launching of the 'one thousand' campaign to push for the approval of the specialty allowance for accountants, ranging from KD 300 to KD 700. He stated this allowance will be paid to all accounting diploma holders in the government, private and oil sectors, depending on their experience, degree and job title.

KUWAIT CITY: The National Assembly Secretary MP Delaihi Al-Hajeri is of the view that teaching must be classified among difficult jobs in the country, and appealed for immediate payment of allowances to the administrative staff in Ministry of Education, reports Al-Seyassah Daily.
In a statement, Al-Hajeri denounced the ministry's attitude by neglecting the views and contributions of teachers on issues that affect the relationship between teachers and students.
He said the teachers face enormous difficulties at school and the government must adopt decisive steps to reform the profession and motivate teachers to improve.
He believes the carefree attitude of the ministry prompted the recent demonstration by teachers, and called on Civil Service Commission (CSC) to approve their salary scale, and make them on par with their counterparts in other sections.
