Ministry of Peshmarga announced in Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced that it began digging a trench to separate areas controlled by elements of the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant "ISIL" organization and areas under its control , pointing out that it ended the full preparations for the establishment of a center for joint operations with U.S. forces in Erbil.

The Media official at the Ministry of Peshmarga , Haljord Hekmet said in an interview for "Middle East", followed by "Shafaq News" that " the strategy pursued by the ministry and Peshmarga forces now is to defend Kurdistan region and all disputed areas which they controlled after the events of Mosul.

He said that the ministry began digging a trench along the line that separates their forces from areas of the presence of ISIL militants, noting that a ministerial order was issued for all fronts, so to start digging a trench from their regions.

He pointed out that the process of digging the trench include all areas that Peshmarga have reached in Mosul and Kirkuk, with the exception of Diyala, indicating that there is some "Kurdish areas," which has not been decided like Saadia and Jalawla sub-districts , which is expected to be resolved, and then dig a trench in it.

On information about opening a joint operations center between Peshmarga forces and U.S. forces in Erbil, he said that all preparations hav completed and studied, will not be kept secret and will be announced soon.

The media official of the Ministry of Peshmarga ruled out that the goal of the center of joint military operation between U.S. forces and Peshmarga id toward Mosul, pointing out that it is early to talk about a military operation to restore Mosul.

He said that this issue is linked to America itself and the position of the Americans on the subject, and the agreement with the government of the region and the political leadership in Kurdistan, and with the federal government.

Peshmarga Kurdish forces has moved towards the disputed areas in Nineveh , Salahuddin, Kirkuk and Diyala to fill the security vacuum, which happened after the withdrawal of the Iraqi security forces from large areas of these provinces more than a month ago following the entry of ISIL organization to them and their control over those areas, according to Kurdish security sources, citing its movement and control of the disputed areas to protect the population from ISIL attacks .
