DOHA: Kia Motors registered an increase of 30 percent in sales in the first half of 2009 compared to the same period last year, Hussein Abbas, Kia Motors Marketing Manager of Al-Attiya Motors and Trading Company in Qatar, said.

"We are delighted to see that Al-Attiya Motors and Trading Company posted an increase in Kia vehicles sales by 30 percent year-on-year through the first half of 2009," said Abbas. "We are confident that we will continue to grow in 2009. Despite a challenging industry environment, we believe we are well-positioned to continue to gain share in many of the world's major markets this year," he added.

Abbas pointed out that the global economic crisis had a positive effect especially on Kia Motors.

"Kia Motors recorded a 22.5 percent rise in global sales in June," Abbas observed.

He added that the new models of Kia Motors had a positive effect in increasing Kia sales.

"Kia's new distinguished models succeeded to fulfill their customers' needs, in addition to their competitive prices," Abbas said.

He added that Kia Soul HAS been a hit with the youth market. "Everybody wants to attract the youth. Kia Soul really delivers on consumer's desire for self-expression".

Kia Motors vehicles, said Abbas, stood by strong quality and real value.

"Kia Motors subscribes to a philosophy of building high value and delivering high quality products which is supported by three years insurance or 100,000km or five years insurance with an open counter for luxury vehicles," Abbas explained, stressing that this insurance has been only taken from the Korean manufacturer, which distinguishes Kia Motors from its competitors.

Kia posted an increase in medium vehicles by 106% year-on-year and a 71% increase in the four-wheel-drive vehicles, while in the medium and big cars segments it kept its quota in the local market.

"Al-Attiya Motors and Trading Company is the official Agent of Kia Motors in Qatar which offers the best service to their customers," Hussein Abbas said, pointing out to the launch of the new Kia Mohave which has earned a five-star crash safety rating.

"New Kia Mohave will surely compete with its counterparts in the market. This is due to its marvelous design, distinguishing performance and the luxury features," Abbas explained.
