Khimji Ramdas (KR) Group has launched Khimji Ramdas Insurance Services Company (KRIS), an insurance broking firm under the umbrella of the Khimji Ramdas Shipping Company, part of KR's projects and logistics group.
Khimji Ramdas Group has more than two decades of experience as insurance agents with Blue Eagle Shipping and Insurance Services, but the new insurance division will now graduate into a full-fledged insurance broking firm.
M C Jose, CEO of the projects and logistics group, said that KRIS, which will offer professional risk and insurance intermediary services across all lines of the insurance business in the sultanate, aims to be among the top insurance broking firms in the country.
He said, "We have learned the intricacies of the insurance sector, being in the business for more than two decades now. We have a highly qualified team of professionals which is capable of offering quality services at the most competitive prices.
"With insurance added to the portfolio, we are proud to offer all transport-related services with Khimji Ramdas. We are confident that we will soon be a leading player in the insurance segment too."
Speaking to Muscat Daily, Suresh S, divisional manager of KRIS, said that the core strength of the company will be in offering professional risk management services that will be largely beneficial to the corporate sector.
He said, "With the changing dynamics of the insurance market, we want insurance broking services to add value to our own business and our clients. As a business house we understand business better and with this understanding we can offer better services to customers.
"Though the competition is intense in the insurance sector in Oman, there is enough room for those who offer professional and niche services. Our focus will be to ensure that our services are available to customers at the time and place where they are most needed."
Suresh added that as part of promotional campaign, following the official launch of the company, KRIS will offer a free risk audit survey to the interested corporate clientele.
