KUWAIT CITY : KGL Investment Company (KGLI), a cutting-edge international investment firm based in Kuwait, is breaking new ground at Kuwait University this summer. KGLI is sponsoring a full-time private equity program that will take students out of the classroom and into the dynamic decision-making world of financial management. Dr Rashed Al-Ajmi, Dean of the College of Business Administration at Kuwait University and Ms. Marsha Lazareva, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of KGLI, have this week signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a one-year Project Completion Contract that will open the doors of the financial world to a select number of post-graduate students with outstanding academic records.

Mukamis Mukamis, KGLI's Head of Public Relation Department said: "Kuwait University and KGLI have brought together experienced business professors, as well as financial experts from KGLI to custom-design the curriculum". "In an effort to provide students with authentic hands-on experience" Mukamis added "students begin their three-week program by signing an agreement and declaring their commitment to participate fully in the syllabus.

During the course, participants will spend at least one full day at the company's offices in Shuwaikh. The program will accommodate approximately 15 finance majors".

Also, Mukamis said: "Students will observe first-hand how financial deals are conceived, negotiated, created, monitored and concluded by expert teams of financial analysts and investment managers of private equity". KGLI will bring in international experts, who specialize in private equity management issues and will use the Port Fund, its first international product, as a case study for students to analyze the complex process of putting together a financial portfolio".

The program is also an innovative recruitment practice for KGLI, giving students a foot-in-the-door at one of the country's most dynamic and exciting companies. KGLI, which will finance the entire program at no cost to the student participants, is proud to invest in education here in Kuwait.

Although private equity is the most intellectually challenging discipline in the field of finance, it provides great incentives -- high-earning potential -- to those who acquire the right training and experience.

KGLI is proud to partner with Kuwait University, leader in education with an outstanding record of providing its students with new and creative opportunities.

Together, Kuwait University and KGLI will develop Kuwait's next generation of elite private equity professionals, and hope to move beyond the need to import such talent from abroad.
