AMMAN (JT) - The King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) on Wednesday signed five agreements on joint cooperation with major European and US defence companies.
The signing of the agreements took place on the sidelines of a ceremony attended by Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania commemorating the 10th anniversary of KADDB's operations in the field of defence industries.
The agreements will lead to an increase in the number of KADDB's workers and will reflect positively on technology transfer and workers' training, KADDB Chairman and CEO Moayad Samman said following the ceremony.
One agreement was signed with the Turkish Aselsan company to establish with KADDB a joint production and marketing company for night vision and thermal imaging technologies in Jordan.
Under the second agreement, the Netherlands' Stratagem Group will cooperate with KADDB in the development and maintenance of F-16 aircraft while a third deal was signed with Italy's Selex Galileo to cooperate on the design and development of unmanned air vehicles.
The fourth agreement was signed with Belgium's Securitas Company to establish a joint company with KADDB for security services and systems while the fifth agreement was signed with B.A.E. systems on the development of military vehicles.
During the ceremony, the attendees watched a film on KADDB's achievements over the past 10 years.
