AMMAN (Dow Jones)--Jordan's Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Thursday a new tender to buy 100,000 metric tons of wheat.
The ministry set May 16 as the closing date for receiving bids from interested companies.
Jordan bought some 50,000 tons of wheat Tuesday from a tender that closed the same day. The wheat was purchased from Glencore at 289.25/ton C&F, a senior ministry official said.
Jordan consumes some 720,000 metric tons of wheat a year.
