Amman - Jordan Businessmen Association (JBA) signed an agreement with the Union of the Bilateral Chambers of Commerce of Romania to boost cooperation between the two countries.
The agreement, signed on the sidelines of the Jordanian-Romanian Business Forum held in Bucharest, also aims to promote economic ties between both countries' private sector.
A JBA statement quoted its president Hamdi Tabba as stressing the need to develop relations between the two countries as well as explore investment opportunities available to Romanian businessmen in Jordan.
Tabba also reviewed Jordan's attractive investment climate as well as the free trade agreements that Jordan has signed with a number of countries which allow Jordanian exports to access major Arab and world markets.
He urged the Romanian government to facilitate visa procedures for Jordanian businessmen willing to visit Romania as well as the movement of individuals, whether for work or tourism.
The JBA president also met with the Romanian Minister of Economy and discussed means to forge closer ties between the two countries in the economic, trade, investment, energy, transport and services spheres.
