AMMAN (Dow Jones)--The Iraqi Grain Board issued Wednesday a new tender to purchase at least 50,000 metric tons of wheat from any origin, a senior board official told Dow Jones Newswires.
The ministry set May 13 as the closing date for receiving offers, and bids will remain valid until May 17, the official said.
Iraq consumes between 3.5 million and 4 million tons of wheat a year, depending mainly on importation.
