TEHRAN - Iran aims at exporting $4 billion worth of technical and engineering services in the current calendar year (began on March 21), The Trade Promotion Organization of Iran deputy director Kiyumars Fathollah Kermanshahi said here on Wednesday.
Iran's technical and engineering services exports reached 3.301 billion dollars in the previous year, showing 7 percent increase compared to the preceding year's figure of 3.083 billion dollars, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reported.
Iran mainly carries out construction, power, and road building projects overseas.
Iran's Deputy Industries and Mines Minister, Ahmad Khadem-ol Mellah, said in March that 66 Iranian industry and mines related companies are carrying out projects in 27 countries.
According to the official more than 125 industrial and mining projects, worth some $3.5 billion, are in the hands of Iranian contractors around the world.
He pointed out that most of the operating firms belong to the private sector.
