Amman - Minister of Industry and Trade Amer Hadidi highlighted on Wednesday the importance of establishing the Jordanian-Egyptian Customs Union, which will form the nucleus of the Arab Customs Union in the framework of the Arab League.
Hadidi was speaking at a meeting with heads of the Egyptian and Jordanian delegations to the meetings of union's technical committee, where he valued ties between the two countries in various domains.
Head of the Egyptian delegation Abdul Rahman Fawzy and his Jordanian counterpart Montaser Oqlah signed the minutes of the second meeting of the technical committee to the planned Customs Union, which started on Tuesday.
The committee stressed the importance of completing all preparations to establish the union within two years from the date of holding the second meeting of the committee.
The Jordanian-Egyptian Customs Union will contribute to overcoming challenges facing trade exchange, increasing the level of trade exchange, achieving economic integration and upgrading economic ties between the two countries.
