Dubai, Sept.19th,2007 (WAM) --Dr. Ali Bin Oboud, Executive Directorof the Ministry of Development Government Sector, signed an agreementwith Mariam Mohammed, Manager Competency Center Etisalat Academy, forthe execution of the competency assessment project for the governmentsector.

The project falls within the general agreement that was signed by boththe Ministry and Etisalat Academy recently, where it was stated that 300government managers and directors from all federal ministries wouldparticipate in an assessment and development program.

Also witnessing the signing was Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Director of HumanResources and Financial Affairs for the Ministry, and Mariam Al Abbar,Deputy general manager of civil service council.

This signing will bring forward 15 nominees from each Ministry, accordingto the nature and specialization of each employee's role in the Ministry.

This project will be divided into three major phases, where the initialphase will identify professional and vocational competencies for 50 employeeposts via a draft and classification process and then linking these competencieswith the jobs concerned. The second phase will prepare the necessary competencymeasurement tools by using ability and personality tests, specializedin measuring competencies that have been especially adapted and formulatedfor the nature of work in the government sector. In the final phase, eachemployee will meet with competency assessment consultants from the CompetencyCentre at Etisalat Academy where their assessment will determine a planfor development of each employee individually. The projected is expectedto be completed by December 2008.
