KUWAIT: Ministry of Interior Director of Public Relations, Col Adel Ahmad Al-Hashash, said the ministry is keen to keep all citizens and expatriates informed about decisions and security formalities and traffic regulations taken by the ministry. This will make things simple and everyone will know his responsibilities and duties towards society and others.
Deputy Prime Minister, Interior Minister and Defense Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Hmoud, issued a decision to amend Article 46 of the traffic law. It stated, as per decisions taken by GCC interior ministers, that shaded glass on all vehicles is now allowed, provided that shading does not exceed 30 percent of the transparency of all windows. This is except for the window shield in front of the driver, which should be transparent and in accordance with the GCC specification.
Al-Hashash said the ministry intends to conduct an informative campaign to explain the decision with respect to conditions, specifications and penalties. The campaign is being prepared in cooperation with Kuwait Radio and Television and private television channels, through sms messages and through the ministry website. Additionally, a number of leaflets in Arabic and English will be distributed in order to reach the largest segment of vehicle drivers. Violators can be fined KD 15 and traffic patrolmen have the right to impound the vehicle.
