DOHA - A UAE-based healthcare management group has launched their services in Qatar for the benefit of the economically-disadvantaged people here. The Fathima Healthcare Group (FHG) has opened its office here in association with Al Jaber Group. "People come here just to support their families back home," said Dr K P Hussain, Managing Director and CEO, FHG. "A major part of their income goes into maintaining their health. If this part is taken care of by providing a well-designed budget-oriented health scheme, they can contribute more physically and psychologically towards their jobs. This will in turn help increase productivity." The Group provides medical schemes which are designed to serve the population in Qatar who are in the lower and middle income brackets with comprehensive, cost-effective and quality medical services. "We are here to construct a bridge between the employer and the employee by providing cost-effective medical schemes with the support of insurance. Fathima Healthcare Management Services -- Qatar, is intended to provide medical services especially to the lower and middle income group," said Hussain.

The Group has already formed a network of quality healthcare providers in Qatar, according to the CEO. They will provide health insurance cards in association with insurance companies to members to utilise medical services available from the network, which will be expanded as per the requirements of society.

"We will provide third party administration services to insurance companies," said Dr Beena Hussain, Director of the Group. "Our services will serve the complete range of medical needs of our insured clients. Services will be affordable and accessible for all. At present, we are providing only healthcare management services. Health services are yet to be discussed. We have been working in the UAE for the last 11 years and our success there as leading service providers prompted us to reach out to other countries in the region," she told The Peninsula.

The healthcare group presently has a network of over 500 healthcare providers in the UAE, 200 hospitals in India and 18 in Pakistan. It has tie-ups with all major insurance companies in the UAE and 56 insurance companies in Europe.
