Cairo –  The Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy has completed expansion and replacement works of electricity networks as well as the implementation of other infrastructure projects in El-Menofia at a cost of EGP 1.7 billion from 2014 until 2020.

The state-financed plan was implemented between 2017 until 2020 at a cost of EGP 650 million, while the self-financed plan was executed from 2014 until 2020 at a cost of EGP 450 million, according to a statement on Wednesday.

The electricity upgrade plan included the replacement of medium-voltage overhead power lines with underground cables at total lengths of 134,579 kilometres (km) at a cost of EGP 150 million.
