Islamic personalities were honored by the Award to prove that the people of knowledge, virtue and goodness do not only deserve to be honored but also to engrave their names in the records of history and their efforts culminated in the service of Allahs Glorious Book and its Sciences. They are honored where the entire world stands out of respect for them In recognition of their grand contribution to humanity. Every year a prominent Islamic personality is nominated for the Islamic Personality Award. The Islamic Personality of the Year may be a scholar or an institution. The personality is nominated on the merits of his/its outstanding writings or his/its outstanding recognized contribution to the Islamic causes, and that must be certified to the unanimousThe Award chooses the personality, and then it will be proposed to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who blesses the choice of the Organizing Committee. The selected Islamic Personality is announced at a press conference held by the Chairman of the Organizing Committee in the presence of members of the organizing committee. The Islamic Personality is honored at the final ceremony of the Award which is attended by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, or any one deputed by him. The awards value of the personality is one Million Dirham. Branches of the Local contest are: Memorization of 30 parts Memorization of 20 partsMemorization of 10 partsMemorization of 5 parts (for UAE nationals only)Memorization of 5 parts (for expatriates below 10 yes old)Memorization of 3 parts (for UAE Nationals below 10 years old)Qiraat Branch designated for contestants who participated in the first branch of the Local Contest and have license in one of the famous recitations (Warsh, Qaloon and Al Duori). UAE nationals and residents from both sexes are entitled to participate in the Local Contest, provided that a contestant has not participated in the International Contest or any higher / same branch in the previous contest, and he can participate in one branch only. The contestant should be nominated through any Quran Centers. This contest is conducted during the month of Muharram every year. A contestant entitled to enter the final qualifying competition after being subjected to the initial contest of the Center it belongs to, then the pre-qualification contest held at the region level. Each center can nominate seven males and seven females candidates if any. Each candidate has to undergo a valuation test conducted by the judging committee which consists of five members the test is based on Hafs narration. The same criteria of the International Contest are applied in setting the questions of this Contest. The local contest is managed by a sub committee appointed by the Organizing Committee of the Award called the Local Contest Committee. The Organizing Committee grants the first three winners of each branch financial prizes ranging from AED 3000 to AED. 30,000. Other contestants are rewarded as well. And all participants are given appreciation certificates. 4) The Memorization of the Holy Quran at PrisonsThe Holy Quran memorization and recitation enlighten hearts and washes self filths as hail washes a white dress. And the spirit shines by repentance light. When the Glorious revelations of Allah is the approach to the penitent turns back in repentance to the Lord. Dubai International Holy Quran Award has become aware of this value, and realized that punitive institutions can be a correctional institution and for that it introduced the Fourth Branch of the Award which is the Memorization of the Holy Quran at Prisons. Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, Ibrahim Bu Melha, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, had issued an administrative decision of establishing the branch of Memorization of the Holy Quran at the Punitive Institutions in Dubai, which had started its activities on 26/3/2002. The objectives of this branch are:1. To serve the Holy Quran. 2. To transform jails into reformatory and educational institutions. 3.
