Three investors are promoting the UAE's first 'country-branded' comm-ercial freehold property Swiss Tower a Dh250 million high-rise with 40 storeys in Dubai's Jumeirah Lake Towers complex.

The building, expected to house mainly Swiss companies, is equally owned by Essam Al Tamimi, managing partner of Al Tamimi & Co, Christoph Kunz of Odette Switzerland Holdings, and Premal Shah, a Swiss national and vice-president of the Swiss Business Council.

"Developing a real country-branded tower that truly represents a nation's essence is unique to this region. We chose Switzerland as the project's theme to reflect the quality, attention to detail and style with which the development was designed," said Al Tamimi. "Our intention is to add another dimension of variety to Dubai's wide array of iconic projects."

The units in the tower will go on sale soon.

"A major portion of the tower will be offered on rent," Shah said.

"Our architects, Gunter Buerk JSK, are working on the final design of the project that will be put on open tendering for the main construction package next year. We have received good response from a number of Swiss companies that would relocate their offices to the tower," he said.

Matterhorn in Dubai

Stylishly designed to create a tranquil working environment, Swiss Tower will be equipped with the latest technology and communications systems.

Huge interior 'winter gardens' with natural European trees will be scattered with cafes. It will also have four duplex penthouses with amazing views.

The silky glass exterior of the building transparent with printed designs reflecting beautiful views of Swiss Alpine meadows will portray an image of the Matterhorn, one of the most popular mountains in the Alps, especially for climbers.

This illusion will be achi-eved using specially designed glass, which is further enhanced by the intricately manicured landscapes and gardens spread around the building.

This concept was created by one of Europe's leading architecture firms, Gunter Buerk JSK, which has 150 architects and engineers in Germany, Switzerland and Eastern Europe.

Asteco, a real estate manager, will supervise the sale of the tower.
