Tunis: The First Lady of Tunisia Mrs. Leila Ben Ali, Chairperson of the Arab Women Organization (AWO) hailed efforts exerted by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah and her contribution to the organization's programs.
Ben Ali was speaking at the closing session of the 3rd AWO conference, held under the theme of : "Arab Women : An essential partner in sustainable development".
Senator Laila Sharaf head of the Jordanian delegation to the conference, presented a working paper on "Arab Woman and Armed Conflicts: What Sustainable Development", in which she highlighted growing international interest in woman and children as they main victim of armed conflicts.
She reviewed the role of Arab women in the development process following armed conflicts, because of the importance of such stage in building the society's future.
Jordan's delegation to the event comprises head of the delegation Senator Laila Sharaf, and the membership of Minister of Social Development Hala Latouf, Secretary General of National Family Council Haifa Abu Ghazaleh and others.
