Doha - The Al Khor community donated QR30,000 to the Qatar National Cancer Society (QNCS) on Monday from the proceeds of its annual Charity Bazaar held in December.
Present during the event were Mohammed Ali Al Khaldy, Al Khor Community Director; QNCS Vice Chairman Dr. Abdul Azim Hussein; Faisal Ahmed Al Saada, QNCS member; Barbara Storer, Al Khor Clubs Coordinator; Klaus M. Tiel, Al Khor Community Head of Clubs and Recreation; and Dr. Najaty Bsaiso, Vice Chairman of Al Khor Community Diabetes Association.
In 2006, the Al Khor community was able to raise QR15,000 for QNCS during the bazaar. In addition, people in the community also make other donations.
"We depend solely on donations, and these donations are spent on reproducing brochures, weekly lectures and financial support for the cancer patients," Dr. Hussein said. He expressed his gratitude for the invaluable help extended by the Al Khor community as well as the assistance of Hamad Medical Corporation.
