Swimmers from the Abu Dhabi Indian School struck gold on the opening day of the sixth CBSE Schools National Swimming Championship being held in Jaipur, India.

Competing in the girls' under-19 category, Devika Mohan won the 100-metre breaststroke event, while Shameek Agarwal won the 200-metre backstroke gold in the under-16 section.

Abu Dhabi Indian School also bagged a relay gold when Aparna Sajeendran, Kalyani Oak, Meka Laya and Surinei Kruthika won the under-12 freestyle relay.

Other medal winners from Abu Dhabi Indian school were Monisha Reddy, Anisha B. Reddy and S. Priyanka, all of whom claimed bronze.

Monisha competed in the 800-metre freestyle in the under-19 category, while Anisha took part in the 200-metre backstroke.

Priyanka performed in the under-16 section of the 200-metre backstroke event.

Nicole C. Miranda won the bronze in the girls' under-14, 100-metre breaststroke event and Karthikey S. Surineni took third place in the same event for boys under-16.

An 80-member Gulf team is currently taking part in the five-day championship. A total of 32 swimmers, 16 boys and 16 girls are representing Abu Dhabi Indian School.
