With the launch of four new models of Chery cars in Riyadh, Wednesday, Chinese are set to penetrate the huge Saudi car market, which is estimated at SR15 billion.
Chery Automobiles launched four latest models of 2007 models at an exclusively opened showroom for Chery cars in Riyadh. First Motor Company, a member of Al-Hokair Group, the sole distributor of Chery cars in the Kingdom will open two more showrooms in Jeddah and Dammam to showcase all different models of Chery cars.Saudi Arabia with an annual growth rate of three to seven percent is the largest car market in the Mideast.
Chery Automobile vice-president specially flown in Riyadh for the launch of four new models of Chery brands which included Chery A5, Chery Eastar, Chery V5 and SUV Chery Tiggo.
Chery Automobiles is one of the largest passenger carmakers in China and also topped in export figures among all Chinese car manufacturers, said Dr. Yousef Elias Maroun, COO of First Motor Company.
To meet the needs of a Saudi family Chery's cars are available in different models including Chery A5 with 1.6 and 2.0 liter engines, Chery Eastar is a luxury family sedan car, Chery V5, the newest model introduced for the first time is a seven-seater family sedan. It is equipped with Mitsubishi 2.4-liter engine. The SUV Chery Tiggo, which is also powered by Mitsubishi engine built with maximum safety, comfort and reliability.
