Based on the decision made by the government, 150 trillion rials ($15 billion) will be allocated to agriculture sector in form of low-cost facilities during the current Iranian year which has been named as "National Production, Supporting Iranian Capital and Labor" by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Minister of Agricultural Jihad Sadeq Khalilian said 40 trillion rials ($4 billion) have been promoted to support development of infrastructures in agriculture sector, Mehr News Agency wrote on Wednesday.
Pointing to the decision made by the Market Adjusting Taskforce for importing $24 billion of staple goods, he said out of the slated figure, $6 billion is for supplying the commodities in agro sector and $18 billion is for procuring raw materials such as petrochemicals.
Imports will be conducted with a strict control so as not to have negative impact on domestic products, he pointed out.
