Banca d'Italia is an Italy-based central bank. It is a part of European System of Central Banks (ESCB) and the Eurosystem. As a public-law institution, it is engaged in the general interest in monetary and financial matters, including prices stability and efficiency of the financial system, such as implementing the protection of savings embodies in the constitution, as well as other duties in compliance with the domestic law. In addition, the Bank provides technical assistance to the regulatory authorities of emerging and transition countries.
