Oman Construction Summit gets sponsorship of leading companies
Muscat, Oman, 23 January 2011 - Top companies that are currently involved in many major development projects throughout the Middle East are sponsoring the Oman Construction Summit 2011, highlighting its importance as a premier event for the region's building and construction industry.
To be held on 30 January - 2 February at the Grand Hyatt Muscat, the Oman Construction Summit 2011 is a high-profile conference and exhibition that will focus on multimillion-dollar infrastructure projects now being implemented in the sultanate as well as investment opportunities in the industry. Held under the patronage of Oman's Ministry of Housing, the four-day event is also officially supported by Oman Housing Bank, the Oman Society of Contractors, the Oman Society of Engineers and the UK-based Concrete Society.
The gold sponsors of the event are Douglas OHI LLC, Driver Global Construction Consultancy and the Joannou & Paraskevaides Group (J&P). Douglas OHI LLC is a joint venture of Oman Holdings International SAOG and Interserve Plc, and it operates across all sectors including industrial, retail, residential and commercial. Driver Global Construction Consultancy provides a wide range of construction and engineering services, with its office in Muscat serving the requirements of both government ministries and commercial clients. J&P was founded Cyprus in 1941 but it has been active in the Gulf region since the 1960s and has been involved in many prestigious projects, including the construction of the Al Bustan Palace Hotel in Muscat.
The Oman Construction Summit 2011 also has a total of four associate sponsors; Sigma Paints , Parsons, Outukumpu and Makyol. Sigma Paints , which is based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, is the world's second largest coating company, while Parsons is globally known in many diversified sectors including infrastructure, water and wastewater, communications, transportation, energy and facilities. Outokumpu is a global leader in stainless steel products for many industries including building and construction, and Makyol is Turkey's leading road and highway contractor, with operations in GCC countries including Oman and Qatar.
