The Yemen LNG Company awarded on Sunday, 11 July 2010, scholarships to 13 Yemeni students to study abroad in various universities in France.

This ceremony held under the auspices of Minister of Oil and Minerals, Ameer Salem Al-Aidaroos and of Ambassador of Republic of France to Yemen, Joseph Silva,

The scholarships are offered by the Yemen LNG Company, the scholarships are granted to students from across Yemen, including four young women. Nine of the grantees will participate in undergraduate programs and four in master degrees.

Al-Aidaroos launched the ceremony saying that

The General Manager of Yemen LNG Company, The number of scholarships, which the ministry coordinated with oil and gas companies, reached to 55 scholarships this year for Yemenis to study abroad at some of the best universities in the world.

Moreover, the French ambassador to Yemen, Joseph Silva said that this scholarships program comes within the Company objectives to reinforce cooperation between the Yemeni and French governments.

Francois Rafin, congratulated the winners for their admission to French universities. He wished them all success for their academic studies and underscored the expectations of their future contribution to Yemen economic wealth and cultural life.

The event was attended by some high ranking government officials, representatives of the French embassy and the French Cultural Center as well as representatives of the media.
