RIYADH -- The Ministry of Water and Electricity has signed new water and sanitary drainage projects contracts worth SR377 million. Abdullah Bin Abdul Rahman Al-Hussayyen, Minister of Water and Electricity, signed the huge deal which will cover projects throughout the Kingdom.
A source said SR1 million will be spent on expanding the Asir water treatment project and SR74.4 million will be spent on the third phase of the Buraidah drinking water project.
A further SR59.7 million will be spent on water projects in villages in the Makkah region, the Eastern Province, Al-Qassim and Jizan regions.
The projects also include the construction of dams in Hail and the operation of water projects in Asir and surrounding areas.
