Roads & Transport Authority: A delegation from the Ministry of Presidential Affairs praised the corporate model of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA); being the first of its kind at the Dubai Government level. It also reviewed the effective strategies, high professional standards, credibility and objectivity adopted by RTA Internal Audit Department in achieving the best results to match the volume of projects undertaken by various RTA agencies & sectors as well as the advancement seen by the UAE in general and Dubai Emirate in particular.

To this effect the Director of RTA Internal Audit Abdullah Al Jawi and a number of the Department employees received a visiting delegation from the Ministry of Presidential Affairs headed by Hamdan Zakaria Awadah, Director of Internal Audit,  Ministry of Presidential Affairs, and a number of Internal Audit Department employees of the Ministry.

"The modern techniques of internal audit are more transparent and accurate such as the use of modern & advanced techniques different from previous concepts; which require considerable number of auditors to perform. The consultative role played by internal audit in making constructive comments and positive ideas that help agencies and departments identify the potentials of improvement, challenges as well as risks with a view to upgrading the work mechanism, performance and service level," said Al Jawi.

"Our work in the Internal Audit Department at the Office of H.E. the Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the RTA, stems from the Internal Audit logo that hinges on team work, impartiality and excellence as tools of leveraging the performance and as such contributing to the realization of RTA vision of ensuring Safe & Smooth Transport for All.

"From inception, the RTA Internal Audit Department has experienced a number of important changes in order to cope with the advancement witnessed by all RTA agencies engaged in costly projects undertaken and strategic initiatives taken in order to broaden & strengthen infrastructures such as streets, roads, tunnels, and bridges needed for the integration of all public transport means and key pillars of the required economic growth & development," continued Al Jawi.

The Director of RTA Internal Audit expressed RTA's readiness to lend all forms of possible support and cooperation to the Internal Audit Department at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs to upgrade the office routines with a view to bringing them at par with the best practices and adopting strategic initiatives including the use of modern technologies & programs applicable worldwide in this regard.

For his part Hamdan Zakaria Awadah, Director of Internal Audit at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs expressed his deep delight with this gathering and lauded RTA's Internal Audit Dep't for offering exposure to its successful practice in this field. He also commended the efforts made by the RTA in uplifting the profile of the Dubai and the entire UAE at the regional and international levels.

The visiting delegation comprised of Financial Audit In-Charge Mohammed Shihab Al Ramahi, Senior Auditor of Information Technology Lubna Fareed Ahmed, Senior Internal Auditor Rashid Abdul Rahim Al Hosani, and Internal Auditor Amnah Najeeb Al Bu Falah.

In addition to Abdullah Al Jawi, the gathering was also attended from the RTA by Deputy Director of Internal Audit and Manager of Corporate Support & Processes at the Department Abdullah Al Buraa'ee, Internal Audit Consultant Ashraf Mujahid, Manager of Governance Aysha Al Sulaiti, IT Manager Ali Kashwani, and several employees of the Dep't.

The gathering was interceded by a visual presentation about RTA evolution phases and a thorough explanation of the mechanism of Internal Audit business processes.
