MUSCAT -- On the occasion of the 37th National Day anniversary celebrations, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said has bestowed his royal gesture on persons with special needs, exempting them from paying land ownership fee on plots allotted to them by the government.

As per the royal gesture, full exemption in fee will be given to those persons with special needs, whose monthly income is below RO200, while those whose monthly income is above RO200 but does not exceed RO300, half of the fee will be exempted.

Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Shabibi, minister of housing, said this royal gesture came as the continuation of His Majesty's gestures towards his loyal citizens and His Majesty's care to all sections of society.

In a statement, he added that this royal gesture reflected His Majesty's keenness to the needs of the citizens, pointing out to His Majesty's gesture this year, exempting the citizens with limited income (whose monthly salary is below RO300) from paying the outstanding loan amount of RO3,000 or below.

He said the ministry would spare no efforts in providing assistance for this section through facilitating the procedures in coordination with various government departments. Al Shabibi praised His Majesty's gesture and other previous grants given in the service sectors.
