Muscat: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility and its continuous efforts to help the local community, Oman India Fertiliser Company S.A.O.C (OMIFCO) announced recently its participation as a Gold Sponsor at the Volunteer Expo 2011, scheduled to be held on 5-7 December, 2011.

"Throughout the years, Oman India Fertiliser Company has been committed to invest in the community in various sectors including education, health, sport and society. Besides, OMIFCO has been investing socially in many programmes like job training, self-employment and scholarships," said Qasim Al-Balushi, Manger of CSR, OMIFCO.

Hend emphasised that OMIFCO 's participation at the Volunteer Expo 2011 will offer a great opportunity for the company to be acquainted on how other orgnaisation practice Corporate Social Responsibility activities. "The exhibition will open doors for OMIFCO to cooperate with nonprofit organization which are involved in volunteering activities. Such events create opportunities for companies to meet and exchange experiences in the volunteering field. As a company investing in many social programmes, we are expecting to meet those who are interested in volunteering programmes at the exhibition," Hind added.

The Oman India Fertiliser Company SAOC (OMIFCO) is owned 50% by Oman Oil Company SAOC (OOC'), 25% by Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited ('IFFCO') & 25% by Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO) OMIFCO has been established, as the result of an initiative by the Governments of Oman & India, in order to construct, own and operate a modern world scale two-train ammonia - urea fertiliser manufacturing plant at the Sur Industrial Estate in the Sultanate of Oman.
