Dubai-based construction firm Kele Contracting has signed a new contract with Majid Al-Futtaim Properties, subsidiary of the Majid Al-Futtaim Holding, for phase 3 of the redevelopment works at Deira City Center shopping center.

The two companies were also involved in the first two phases that took place over the course of 10 months and saw the addition of 30,000 square feet of retail space to the shopping center.

The first phase has already been completed, while the second is still in progress.

The second phase, which is set for completion by August, will see the refurbishment of the restaurant/City Walk precinct, the expansion of retail space and food courts, as well as the renovation of male and female amenities. Development and construction works have been planned to have little to no impact on the center's activities and customers.

"We are proud to continue our ongoing relationship with Majid Al-Futtaim Properties and we look forward to completing phase 3 of the Deira City Center shopping center redevelopment project in partnership with the Majid Al-Futtaim Properties team," said Kele Contracting CEO, Andrew Elias.

This phase includes various enhancements and expansion initiatives, which will undoubtedly cement the center's position as one of Dubai's most popular malls, continued Elias.

Kele Contracting was established in 2005 in partnership with Enshaa PSC and Australian affiliate Kele International Holdings.

The firm specializes in construction management and contracting, as well as value engineering, interior fit-out and design-and-build projects, and it counts various well-known regional and international industry players among its clients.

Having successfully completed numerous large-scale residential, commercial high-rise and infrastructure projects, Kele has emerged as a significant force in the Middle Eastern construction industry.
