Dubai, 08 June 2015: Kaspersky Lab announces the release of Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business Service Pack 1 (SP1), its flagship product for business. In addition to offering superior security, the new edition of the flexible platform is easier to deploy and manage, and now provides more advanced capabilities for managing all devices connected to the corporate network with minimal impact on their performance.

In today's dynamic environment, IT administrators encounter a growing number and diversity of external cyber threats, while there are internal menaces that are no less dangerous, namely the increasing number of personal devices at work and a growing amount of shared information. These two factors bring complications to the control of hardware and software within the network making it more vulnerable. According to a study conducted by Kaspersky Lab and B2B International in 2014, 26% of respondents in the GCC named protecting highly sensitive data as one of top priorities. Viruses, worms and Trojans were ranked among the top three cyber threats (51%), while about 13% of respondents admitted they had faced targeted attacks.

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business combines the ease of centralized deployment, management and control over all devices connected to the corporate network with reliable protection against cyberthreats. With improved features such as Mobile Device Management, System Management and Endpoint Encryption IT administrators can easily detect vulnerabilities, make inventories, install and enforce security policies to avoid data loss and theft.

"The Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business platform includes functionality broad enough to meet the security needs of businesses of any size without incurring additional budget and human resource costs. Thanks to it the IT administrator can see, control and protect the corporate network with the help of a single platform, via a single console: they can manage security, encryption, settings of Windows, Linux and Mac machines and mobile devices, control network and mail traffic," commented Ovanes Mikhaylov, Managing Director at Kaspersky Lab Middle East.

What's new in Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business?

The 30% reduction in size of Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows SP1's distribution package and integration of the endpoint encryption module significantly reduces network traffic during deployment and speed up the processes of installation and management. If it is necessary to install an update on a remote network, the IT administrator can choose one computer on the network to serve as an Update Agent using the advanced Patch Management functionality. To reduce traffic, all updates can be sent to this computer and then spread throughout the network from there. Updates can be delivered both manually or automatically at any time of day, and the IT administrator can monitor their installation status.

Together with Kaspersky Lab's advanced encryption solution two-factor authentication using smart cards and tokens provides additional protection against unauthorized access.

Kaspersky Security Center Web Console now supports mobile device management, allowing IT specialists to remotely manage employees' personal devices when they are connected to the corporate network. Also Kaspersky Mobile Device Management makes it possible to adjust and apply through a single user interface a wide range of security policies for devices running on the popular Microsoft Exchange Active Sync, Samsung Knox 2.0 and Apple MDM mobile platforms.

To quickly take care of personal devices brought into corporate environment and reduce impact on the IT, some of management services, among which are download, activation of security application and remote wipe, are delegated to employees via Self Service Portal. If the device is lost or stolen the user can easily locate it, block or remove valuable data. The necessary keys and certificates are distributed automatically via the portal.

Kaspersky Security Center Role-based Access Control makes it possible to distribute the rights to manage solution functionality (Anti-Malware, Endpoint controls, Encryption, Vulnerability Assessment / Patch Management) among several IT professionals to provide more effective network administration. While by integrating with the HP ArcSight and IBM QRadar SIEM systems Kaspersky Systems Management SP1 now provides an additional option: automatic connection to pre-installed client-side SIEM systems for transmitting logs and other data related to information security.

Kaspersky Lab's customers in the GCC can already update their Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 to Service Pack 1, while other organizations can ask the company's resellers and system integrators about the new product.
