Doha, 8 March 2011: Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) will be participating as a main sponsor in the upcoming 9th Arab Hospitals Federation (AHF) Congress, also known as Medhealth Beirut 2011, on March 9-11 at Habtoor Grand Hotel in Beirut, Lebanon.
The conference is organized under the patronage of His Excellency General Michel Sleiman, President of the Republic of Lebanon. The event will be held simultaneously with the 35th meeting of the Executive Board of the Health Ministers Council, which is presided over by His Excellency Abdullah bin Khalid Al Qahtani, Qatar's Minister of Health.
"HMC's participation in Medhealth Beirut 2011 will provide the conference participants and the public with comprehensive information on significant advancements in the provision of quality healthcare services at HMC, as well as familiarize them with opportunities in the rapidly developing healthcare sector in Qatar," said Mohamad Mubarak Al Noimi, Executive Director of HMC's Marketing, Media and Public Relations Department. "This is the third consecutive year that HMC will be participating in the conference."
Mr Al Noimi explained that the invitation was in recognition of HMC's achievements in healthcare, and in order to benefit from its experience in regard to the accreditation and reaccreditation by the Joint Commission International (JCI) of all its five hospitals - a first for a public healthcare organization in the Gulf region. HMC has also received the first accreditation of its kind in the region for the organization's home healthcare services.
"We further aim to build on opportunities for cooperation and exchange of expertise with other participating healthcare organizations," added Al Noimi.
Medhealth Beirut 2011 is organized by the AHF in collaboration with the Arab Ministries of Health, the League of Arab States, the Executive Board of the Health Ministers' Council for the Cooperation Council States, the World Health Organization, the Arab League for Quality Healthcare Services, and other organizations and associations in the Arab healthcare sector.
Medhealth Beirut 2011 will feature current healthcare-related topics, including a review of emerging healthcare trends, managing quality care in the next decade, greening and sustainability in healthcare and women's health in particular, and managing local and global health tourism. A high profile exhibition will be held simultaneously with the scientific program and will showcase products and services from major Arab hospitals, clinics and associations, specialized medical centers, medical facilitators, ICT companies, and pharmaceutical, medical equipment, quality consulting and health insurance companies.
