AL-RIYADH, 30th August, 2015 (WAM) -- The Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, GCC, Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, has condemned the terrorist blast in the village of Karana in Bahrain, describing it as "a despicable crime that is incompatible with values and morals of humanity".

In a statement released earlier today, the Secretary-General said that such terrorist crimes that aim to increase insecurity, cause bloodshed, and terrorise the innocent, emphasise the need to intensify the efforts of the international community, with all it's organisations and authorities, to eliminate terrorism and criminal groups, and dry up the sources of funding for terrorism.

Dr. Al Zayani applauded the determined efforts of the security forces to arrest those who are involved in committing these crimes and to apply the rule of law, as he reiterated the firm support of the GCC for Bahrain in the country's proceedings to maintain security, stability and the safety of its citizens and residents from terrorism powered by third parties, expressing his condolences to Bahrain's king, government and people.
