France Telecom-Orange will pay 640 million euros for a 40% stake in Meditel, Morocco's second-largest telecom provider, international press reported on Wednesday (September 22nd).

The deal gives France Telecom the option to raise its stake to 49% within the next five years. Meditel will likely be listed on the Casablanca bourse in the "short to medium" term.
