Muscat - With its proven track record in offering a multitude of Shari'a-compliant digital solutions, Bank Nizwa won the Best Online Islamic Services Award at the Arab Banks Awards of Excellence 2016. Receiving the award on behalf the bank was Ikhlas Al Lawati, Senior Manager Alternate Channels. Established by the World Union of Arab Bankers in 2015, the prestigious regional event was organized by The Banking Executive Magazine in Beirut, Lebanon in cooperation with Executive Magazine, bringing together more than 500 senior bankers and business representatives from regional and international financial institutions.

Dr. Ashraf Al Nabhani, General Manager Corporate Support, Bank Nizwa said, "This win is another achievement that demonstrates our determined efforts to innovate and offer a competitive range of digital products and services that meet the evolving requirements of our expanding customer base." She added, "Our 2020 strategy focuses on delivering an excellent customer experience through technological breakthrough. With this strategy in place, we want to continue pushing boundaries in order to offer fast, accurate and convenient financial services."

Based on a study conducted by global audit company Deloitte in 2015, the worldwide revolution in communication technology has enabled Islamic Economy to achieve a wider global reach and exposure, which is directly reflected in the adoption of digital services in Islamic banking. In line with this trend, Bank Nizwa's digital expansion strategy was created to offer more convenient Shari'a-compliant banking solutions. The bank's services include online and mobile banking, as well as the Dial My Balance service among others, aimed at putting innovative financial services at the fingertips of its growing customer base.
