MUSCAT: Al Hashar and Company inaugurated their new state of the art service center for heavy commercial vehicles in Azaiba on the January 28, 2012.

Built at a cost of RO1 million, the facility demonstrates the company's commitment to customer satisfaction and has been necessitated by the growing population of Tata, Tata Daewoo and UD trucks being sold by Al Hashar.

The facility was inaugurated by Engineer Saleh Marhoon Al Rawahi, director in DG Transport, Royal court affairs.

Also present on the occasion was a team from Tata Motors, consisting of Murari Trivedi, regional head -West Asia, Gurshaman Singh, area manager Oman and UAE and Ganesh Shetty, regional manager - customer care.

Sheikh Nasser Bin Saeed Al Hashar, member-Board of Directors of Al Hashar, M. Bheemshankar, group general manager and the management team were in attendance as also a large number of the group's esteemed customers.

This new facility is expected to be a one-stop shop for all the customers' after-sales needs.

It can more easily manage the higher numbers of vehicles being sold by Al Hashar.

The new facility can handle both mechanical and body repairs and is equipped with the latest diagnostic and service equipment. It has a truck-sized paint booth to cater to the repairs of accident vehicles.

There are 14 work bays spread over an area of 1,720 sq.m.
The work bays and related facilities such as parts stores, tools stores and the unit repair room are on the ground floor and a fully-equipped training room, technicians' resting room and the prayer room are on the first floor.

This facility has been designed to conform fully to dealer operation standards and has the latest equipment to attend to all the customer needs such as an excellent wheel alignment machine and advanced welding machines.

Integrated oil dispensers along with waste oil collectors help complete the service jobs quickly to help reduce vehicle down time. There is also a pressurized vehicle wash system and a mechanical chassis and body puller.

It may be noted that the new service center offers excellent facilities for training. As training is very important in any service function and specially for developing local talent, a special training center has been built as a part of the new infrastructure incorporating the latest audio-visual equipment and a technical library. It has a facility for E-learning too.
